You're not detaching the bottom plastic bracket from the headlight, are you? That isn't necessary; just remove the two bolts on top of the headlight and the two on the bottom and the whole thing comes out as one piece with the plastic bracket attached to the bottom of the headlight.
I was referring the the headlight mounting bracket. I did have to remove the original bracket because I swapped from ZKW to AL, which had their own bracket. They're not interchangeable.

Thankfully, I got everything taken care of after I gave up and enlisted the help of professionals. Turns out, it was the new mounting bracket that was giving me issues. I should have kept it a little loose to get everything aligned properly before tightening it with an extension underneath the fastened headlight assembly. Also learned to put the lower trim after the headlights are installed.

I'm glad its done and I can't wait to go for a drive tonight and finally see.

For some reason the last few times I've been at the pump the nozzle is clicking prematurely every time. 16.6gal tank and it stops at 13.5, then 14.2(keep in mind I drive until 60 or so miles left in the tank)
Anyone else have a similar issue? It's happened at multiple gas stations so it can't just be the nozzles at one. I'm too afraid to keep clicking it back on to try to get that full tank

This was common on the E36 too. Back the nozzle out like an inch and it'll work fine.

    Similar issue.

Sometimes if I support the weight of the handle, it helps.

Had it happen to me once when I pushed the nozzle too much into the filler...

I noticed it's pump dependant for my car. I rarely have the issue because I go to the same gas station and pump every time where it always works, but on the odd occasion it'll do the premature click at other stations. There's one in particular that it always does it.

I'm fairly certain this is pump specific. For the places that do it, pulling the nozzle out a tiny bit is enough to let it fill up all the way.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.
