    DISA valve replacement time

I'll be doing my DISA valve later this month.

My main question is will there be anything "cleanable" on the intake manifold when I pull out the valve? If so, how should it be cleaned?

Also, any tips/tricks from people who have done it? I know it's pretty easy but you never know.

Those are all good links. I'll definitely reread them before I do it. But none of them mention any cleaning around/of the intake manifold.

I might just be over thinking it and there isn't much to clean

Even if you are replacing the disa, you still might consider the Gas upgrade.

I'd only clean the manifold if you are taking it off. It you start spraying stuff in there, it's obviously not coming out... It'll start dripping down towards your intake valves, which is not good.

I visually inspect anything underneath the DISA. TB, ICV, hoses in the area to see if there are leaks or anything suspicious. Wiping the area to clean the dirt that may have caked on over the years is a good idea too. I usually wipe anywhere I didn't have immediate access prior to disassembly.

I'm referring to spraying stuff into the disa hole. Won't whatever you spray leak down to the intake valves?
