Okay...thinking 235/40-18 or 245/40-18 on 8.5" et40 D-Force Empowers; the 245s might be too much, as they'll be 9.3 mm closer to the strut and 23.4 mm further outboard in front versus the 225/40-18s that come on the stock 135M fronts. 235s squared seem quite doable at +5mm inboard and +18.4mm outboard up front.

Or Enkei PF01s in 17x8.5 with spacers and 245/40-45-17s. Decisions, decisions.

Speedo is not based on the wheels so no worry there, it's the axle. Seems the consensus classic 8.5 square setup on 18s is 245/35 from what I've seen.

That's not exactly correct. Speedo is based on an assumption of the diameter of your wheel/tire combo. Since I went with an oversize rear my speedo is now surprisingly accurate

That makes sense, Hermes. Speed measurements at the axle will only be accurate if the wheel/tire diameter matches the number the manufacturer designed the speedometer around.

So John, is the consensus that 245/35-18s on et40s will fit on a lowered e46?

Wait...did you say you ran 255/35-18 squared on a lowered ZHP with no rub? I missed that the first time. And what are 'normal' camber settings for street use?
