See that stormtrooper helmet in the background in derbo's picture? That's what you really want to wear--very Imperial. When you spin or take out a bunch of cones, nobody will know who you are, as long as all the other drivers are also wearing the same.
pyrotect sa2010 airflow helmet is what I have. I got it when it was $250.

Bell is a great brand. So is Zamp. As long as the helmet is SA2010 or M2010, I don't think you can go wrong

I would say there are only four things that can go wrong with selecting a bargain helmet.
1) DoT certified but not Snell certified, as most clubs/orgs require Snell certification
2) Snell M2005/M2010 certified but your club requires SA2005/2010
3) Great deal on M2005/SA2005 helmet then it expires for most clubs in late 2015
4) Find out it's not comfortable for at least 10 minutes (AutoX) or 25 minutes (track)
