Still haven't found my DSLR, though to be fair, I haven't actually looked for it.
For when I do find my camera, I can now capture both of my lighting mods. Today I installed the Weisslicht Illustro H7 LED bulbs into my high beam housings. It took a bit of work due to the all the hardware, but it really isn't bad and managed to get it all inside the housing.
This is the box the bulbs came in. Inside the box are just the two bulbs along with the small wiring harness already connected to them.
As you can see, there is plenty of space in there to stuff all the hardware...
The flexible headstink ribbons are really neat because you can position them wherever you like!
Until I get my DSLR back, I'm not going to take any output pictures yet because it's a pointless effort, as evidenced by the first two photos. Low light photos come out terrible on my phone, so I'll refrain from those until I can do it right.
I did take a couple of daytime photos with the lights set as DRL's per Derek's request. After a minute of coding, I came up with this. Note, these are only HALF brightness in the photo since that is the brightness they run at when set as DRL's:
If my high beam bowls weren't painted yellow, they'd be even brighter, and would be a crisp white light. I did power one on outside of the housing last night to see how bright they are. Let's just say that it clearly lit up a good part of the street all on its own without a reflector...
And... some pics of the new caliper I brought up in the maintenance thread. I might replace the other calipers on the car as well since the rear two are faded as heck due to high temps and the other front isn't a matching part number anymore. The new caliper has a new part number due to an internal change they made to the caliper, so the new part can now be used on both sides and isn't left/right specific anymore. Who knows... for now I'll leave them since it's low on the priority list.
