fuel economy - icing on the cake

we took the ZHP sedan on its first Slater Family Road Trip over easter weekend. we covered roughly 710KM (~445 miles) and averaged 32.5mpg @ 120km/h (75mph) over the course of the trip - amazing! many thanks to 6th gear.

anyone else getting similar mileage? the car has 109K miles, is a 6MT and the only mod is an aFe Pro Dry S filter (my 6MT coupe with 224K miles gets similar mileage with the stock intake, FWIW).

i'm just floored that a car with such good driving dynamics and performance can also carry the family in comfort AND get great fuel economy.

I usually get 29ish on highway trips, but due to speed limits down here I am usually traveling at 80 to 85 which is the flow of traffic.

    32mpg is excellent.

My average is 18mpg...taking the back way to work at 5am is the problem, not a lack of maintenance...

well, yeah! the car gets to redline several times per outing - that 32.5mpg included at least 10 trips to 6800rpm. and i wasn't "trying" to hypermile or anything, it was just a normal family road trip. i'm pumped - especially with gas going over $5.50/gallon here lately - yikes.
