    ZHP accident

Well I had my first accident today and it just so happens that it was in my ZHP... Wonderful. I was backing out of a driveway to enter my friends house when I clipped a early 90s Acura that I could not see out my window until the last minute. My fault, and a lot learned today (I've only been driving about a year and a half) the ZHP took very little damage , only a few scratches on the passenger side of the bumper and a clip that came loose. The Acura only had a touch of silver paint on the side that wiped off. No dints at all. I went ahead and told the owner who came to access it. The car was rusty, dinted, faded, and beat up all together (later found trade in on the car is 58$ and 500$ to sell). The owner insisted on insurance and claimed the old Acura was a "classic" and needed two new doors and hinges (no damage to any structure or exterior). I asked him to try the doors and he replied he didn't have the keys and they weren't around, a bit sketchy. Needless to say I will always look twice before backing out... At least the collusion was around 2 mph.

Glad no one was hurt and minimal damage. That's what insurance is for and hopefully they will take care of it and forgive your first fender bender.

Sorry to hear. Only two types of drivers: those who have had accidents and those who will.

Glad yours was low speed and very minor.

Thanks guys, pretty pissed at my self but at least it was just paint. The person wants a big far check so they can total the car (still works, didn't hurt it) so I'm having a wonderful week LOL

True, but sadly it goes on my license and insurance and for a fairly new driver in a BMW it's no good...

+1 on all the reassuring the family said and another thought: a driver safety course deletes up to four points (in NY at least)
