    Best Short Shift Kit?

    Hi!

I'm thinking of finally installing a short shift kit. I like the smoothness of the stock shifter, but would prefer a shorter throw and less 'slop'. So far, UUC and RE seem to be the two contenders. I'm sure both are solid units. Anyone here have experience with either kit?

I have the OEM SSK. It's a good mild upgrade. I like it, but it's not nearly as good as the after market, expensive kits.

    Hermes, Johal--

That looks very interesting; I may have to try it. What shift lever did you mate to it?

Lever? Just buy his full kit, nothing else on the market compares to his system

You will have to contact him and he's not gonna be happy. The 6MT on our cars is one of his least favorite kits to make because of the difficultly in making it (part of why his is so much better than the rest)

I don't know, I haven't called him yet. To give you an idea, his kit for 80-82 320i is $250
