I patched mine up by sanding the ribbon to reveal the copper, and soldering an actual wire to it. Works fine, but very hacky. LOL
I've been researching this... Gotta fix both of mine... Seems this is the preferred method. Some suggest using conductive epoxy after exposing the traces... I haven't looked for any of that yet.
