apex 17 x 8.5 versus apex 17 x 9

Was thinking of Apex Arc-8 for my PDX track wheels - to save a bit on tire prices and weight.

I read the thread posted about 17 x 8.5, but was wondering if anyone considered the 17 x 9 square setup and why that may or may not be preferable to the 17 x 8.5 setup.

Suspension is stock currently but thinking of Bavarian Motorsport Perf. springs and FSD shocks - Bav Auto bars front and back and ECS Tuning strut bar up front as well.

I don't plan on doing many PDX events - just a few and then these wheels will double as my daily driver wheels.

Lots of people are running 17x9. I actually think 17x9 is a more popular setup for track use than the 17x8.5... I'm running 245 square with eibach pro/koni sports combo. No rubbing. I use these as DD wheels/light track use. Here are some photos

I have 17x8.5 for clearance in the rear outer fender. I have had rubbing issues on 18x8.5 255 tires so I opted to stay 17x8.5 and use 245 tires this time around.

Not crazy Derbo, that is definitely the Presidio.

Not a E46, but running 8.5 due to the odd rear offsets of the E82 and no easy fitment options. Will most likely have to go custom route sooner or later to fit 17x9
