I just change my rear shocks and front struts and they were shot! Went with Koni yellows for the rear and KWV1's up front. One rear shock wouldn't even rebound when compressed and the same for one front strut. What a difference the new ones made! I would suggest at least starting there if they are still the stock ones. Koni has a Sale for 25% off right now.

I like to be different. Actually I bought the KWV1's from Dane and decided to get the Koni's during their sale. It rides perfect.

Plenty of people do it, its acceptable. Dad runs OEM VW front struts and bilstein HD on the rear of his Jetta. Rides really nicely and is a blast in the twisties.
