I confirmed those parts numbers on Pelican Parts. Their part numbers are always up to snuff.

That is a negative. The one in the Amazon link you provided is for pre 3/2003 models, and those are post-cat sensors.
The Bosch Part #'s for what you need (pre-cat O2 sensors, post 03/2003) are 17215 (bank 1, cylinders 1-3) and 17216 (bank 2, cylinders 4-6).

So what is the diff between the 17215 and 16?

    I already outlined that, DW...
17215 is for bank 1 (aka BMW Part # 11-78-7-523-434)
17216 is for bank 2 (aka BMW Part # 11-78-7-523-435)
    You have 2 pre-cat O2 sensors and 2 post-cat. (1) O2 sensor for each bank of 3 cylinders.

Bosch has two different part numbers for those sensors. Don't know why but it is what it is.

Here is the problem. Whenever I google the Bosch Part #'s, the connector on it I think seems different than the one on the E46. This is why I would order based on a BMW part # and not a Bosch one, because then it's guaranteed to fit.

Yeah.....roger that. Just didn't wanna pay double/triple the price.

My question was...could I buy 2 of the 17215's since Amazon doesn't have the other one? I doubt there is any difference between the two of them.

If I had to guess I'd think the difference between the 17215 and 17216 is just the length of the connector wire?

EDIT: Or maybe not, they both say 1010mm which I'm assuming is the wire length?

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=11&fg=50&hl=1

EDIT 2: 1010mm is 40 inches though, are the connector wires really that long?

I think you could buy 2 of the 15's and call it a day.

I just don't want it to turn into a PITA. I don't have time for that.
