Thanks guys. There were moments in the darkness of nothing where I thought I was going to be eaten or injured outside of the car. I think I watch too many scary movies...Looking up and seeing just a sky of stars is dizzying yet makes me so full of wonder. I know one day I will get the opportunity to go somewhere to take some real pictures of the Milky Way. I just need to upgrade to a camera body with better low light ISO and buy a faster/wider lens!

Trevor there's a light reserve out in the valley somewhere. May be a good place for milky way shots. Check the local astronomy web sites and forums.
