    DISA Repair Kit

    All,

    Has anyone used this kit to repair this DISA Value?

    Yes I have it. It's a very popular kit. It's rock solid and really beefs up the disa.

    I just installed this kit a couple of days ago. This has to be one of the most well-thought kits I've ever used. Everything is included, down to the cotton swabs and a lag bolt whose only purpose is to help remove the lever. Mine was so far gone it pulled out by hand....

    Speaking of which, I know its been said before but anyone who hasn't inspected their DISA really should. I have a fairly low-mileage car (2004 ~80k) and mine was toast. The flapper had dislocated itself and the pin was partially backed out. If I hadn't removed it eventually it would have fallen into the intake. I ended up removing the flapper and putting the DISA unit back in place unplugged and running that way for a couple of weeks while I ordered the kit and waited until I could install it. The car idled rough, torque was down and fuel efficiency suffered. But it got by OK.
