New Car Added to the Family

My dad ordered a 228i and was scheduled for delivery in end of Nov/early December.

Dealership brought in a M235i and the price was too good to look past. So needless to say my dad traded in the 09 (which was surprisingly a good trade) and picked up this beast.

    2015 M235i
    Black Sapphire Metallic
    6 spd
Premium Package, Technology Package, Cold Weather Package
    M Performance LSD
    BMW Performance Exhaust
    BMW Performance Rear Diffuser

Needless to say. I'm full of jelly.

Totally awesome, very cool car. But, I must say, ahem, Black Sapphire?

    Two questions:
    - why was the price too good to pass up? Can't believe they are offering brand new models at good prices already?
    - have you driven yet?

Those are simply incredible - my favorite current model BMW! I've built one on bmwusa.com several times, but just not practical for me.

It wasn't his first choice, he actually wanted white. When we went to visit it though there was a white 228 taking deliver for another guy and next to this, the lines show so much better. The white looks boring.

    To answer the questions:
I don't know why the price was good. The salesman (which happens to be the head sales guy there who we know really well) sent my dad the VIN of his car in production then proceeded to say...BTW I have this M235i that just came in yesterday.

The 228i was at a 5% discount, and this one was substantially less. Factor that with a good trade in value for his 09 E92 328xi, and I think it all just worked out. This has like 4K more worth of options vs his built 228 but it doesn't reflect that in the price. Prior they had a M235i in the showroom stripped to the frame with no options and this one was like $10/mo. We're not questioning it though...lol

I drove it yesterday. It only had 15 miles on it so I couldn't really push it yet...Plus the PSS tires don't like 40*F weather. The power though is completely different, I feel like my car pulls better in high gear at highway speeds, but I didn't do that much testing back to back to verify.

Congrats on the new car and lovely add-ons indeed. I really would like to see how it was structured personally because it does seem odd that they were able to do that. I mean the lease offers currently are pretty darn good for the end of the year sale. My only thought really that the car was ordered and sat there for a period which made them push it out. That's all I can really think of cause there hasn't been much of a push/incentive for the m235 as of late.
