Where are you having the replacement done and how did you choose them? I have a cracked windshield that I would love to replace but am not confident about the first place I looked.

    Got the new windshield installed.

I reached out to a mobile guy and told him what my requirements were. He was able to source a new windshield made by Sekurit who makes the OE glass for bmw. Dot 463 put the production in Bogota, Columbia.

I provided the installer with a genuine BMW windshield gasket I bought from fcpeuro.

    Cost breakdown.

    Gasket $35
    Windshield $165
    Install $70

    Final cost $270

Nice, that's a lot less than I expected. How's the quality of the glass? I thought Pilkington was supposed to be the OEM for our cars.

Quality is really good. It's a factory windshield just without the BMW logo on it. Similar to lemforder

Both manufacturers make the glass FYI

Glad you got it done and like it. I’m sure her’s was a pitted mess (at least mine was—couldn’t see at all if the sun hit it just right (wrong!)).

Original Phillips HID bulbs were changed out to Osram CBI. Light output has improved with a nice white light.

Bought some new bmw evo flat wiper blades and finally found a good deal on an E46 M3 Strut bar with all the mounting hardware.
