Window regulator is done. Wife said the window won't go up all the way.

Purchased a driver's side left window Regulator from tischer bmw. $124 shipped.
Going to try to get the window back up and closed till the new part arrives.

You should look into replacing the window guide as well. This part is liable to make regulators fail due to increased resistance as the rubber ages. The only problem is that the guide itself tends to be more expensive than the regulator.Originally Posted by Vas

New regulator installed this evening.
Somebody before me already replaced it once with some no name brand unit. Quality on it is just crap. Not even sure how long it lasted but probably not long.
New unit installed and the window works again. Wife is happy.
