Turns out I do know the seller of this LSD assembly and he is a great guy. This particular housing was removed from a GTS2 class 2001 BMW 330i race car.
It is in excellent condition and has had the Motul fluid changed religiously.
I can inspect it and ask further questions for anyone interested.

I'm posting to pass it along as it COULD be a good deal considering a new one would basically be double the price including the core charge and this one has been race proven. (I would think the stress factors involved show this to be a solid unit).
