Hmm... So a 245 square is too narrow?

I don't think it is. Personally I wouldn't want a lot of tire on the front axis.

Not too narrow but might be a tad small. 225/45/18 is standard size. 255/40/18 is also standard size. You're still going 5% less sidewall as well as 10mm thinner. I'd do 245/40 or 255/40 or else they're gonna look really small on the car.

My 255/35s look small on my M and its dropped on coils

Check the rim width range on the specs on tirerack, that's best indicator.

Ahh alright, now I am leaning towards a 245/40 (they are even a little cheaper). I definitely appreciate the input.

Do you have any pics of your 255/35?

I'm not sure when I'll buy them just yet, wont need them until spring. Just trying to decide what is best for me.

245 or 255 is perfectly fine on a 18x9. A lot of people I have met run 245's or 255's, don't want to oversize them but a little undersize is okay.

My buddy runs 215's on his 18x9's..

I ran 245's on the front of my 18x8's and did not like it, car tramlined like crazy even with good tires and suspension. But the grip was amazing.

I ran 255/35/18 squared on 18x8.5. I feel a 9 should have 255 as that is the native recommended size for a 9inch.

.5" won't make too much difference. If anything it will just give you less of a bit buffer for any potential curb you brush
