Hawk High Performance Street 5.0 Brake Pads

I'll be putting on the front set of these this week. Below are some of the quotes I've found from the vendors and have only seen a few reviews on them. Anybody else using them yet?

The pads feature a Ferro-Carbon compound and offer advanced braking characteristics to enhance the driving experience. This new compound combines the safety and quality of aerospace design with the braking technology of motorsports for improved performance under heavy braking situations.

    Key Features:
    Pushing the Limits of ABS
    Decreased stopping distances
Improved pedal feel from initial pressure through entire pedal stroke
    Minimal fade under Higher Temps
    High friction/torque hot or cold
    Gentle on rotors
    Very quiet, low noise
    Improved braking over OE pads
    Extended pad life

Better stopping power even when the pads are cold
Good initial bite (more than on Hawk HPS)
Excellent resistance to fade during street use
Moderate dust during normal street driving
    Quiet operation
    Easy on rotors

Comment: The Hawk High Performance Street 5.0 pads are built from their highly successful HPS line but with more torque and initial bite. They are a premium performance street pad that works best under aggressive driving. They have been engineered to give exceptional braking power on the street without the downsides of a race pad.

I bet it's set to compete with the stoptech performance street pads. I wonder what the MOT on these are.

sounds good, guy. curious to hear your thoughts - and also nice that they improved initial bite 'pedal feel throughout the stroke', because those are two gripes i definitely had with the older HPS.

    thanks for posting this info!

I had put a front set of Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads, on my wife's 06 330Cic and was very impressed. From what they say, these are better so, I'm very curious as to the BETTER of GREAT.

Finished installing them tonight and took her out for a short ride to Bed them in. Several hard stops from 60-80. The DCS was modulating like crazy but no problem stopping and the distance seamed to be shorter every time. Back to normal driving and they did just fine, very smooth, no grab, no noise.

Looks like good weather tomorrow so, I'll take her to work and get a better feeling.
