    Alarm keeps going off

Hey what's up guys, got this weird alarm issue with my car. I have a 2003, 120,000 miles or so 330i zhp 6 speed. When I park the car I hit the button on they key, car locks and gives me a beep, all is well. About an 1 hour parked and the alarm goes off for no reason. So I go outside and open and close all the doors, trunk and even the hood. I'm thinking one of the door sensors that's tells the car if the door is open or closed could be getting stuck. After I do this I hit the button on the key, car locks with a beep, all is well. 30 min later the alarm goes off again. This is the stock BMW alarm.

I have heard that a weak battery could cause this. I do have the original battery but I haven't had any problems with it. The car always starts even in the sub negative degree weather we have been having. Voltage on the battery is 12.3 and the little window on top of the battery is a solid green color indicating the battery is still good.

    What do you guys think?

I say if you have the original battery in that car (12 year old battery), it must be time for a new one. The poor thing is likely on its' last leg.

12.3 V sounds low to me. Is this with car iddleing?

Don't forget to check the hood switch. Last year my alarm kept going off on my ZHP and it turned out to be a faulty hood switch. Once I replaced mine, no more false alarms. The hood switch didn't cost too much and I didn't know how to check it so I just replaced it. Easy fix!

Until you can replace it just unplug it. Mines been unplugged for almost two years now just cause I didn't have the cash to replace switch. No harm done.

Price is not bad considering there are so many more items that cost a lot more than this but yes, it does add up OP I suspect replacing this should cure your issues....

Replacing that part will be the easiest thing you ever change on your car. Took me about 1 min.

Couldn't OP also by-pass the switch and jump the 2 wires together to trick the system. Just to determine if this is indeed the culprit.

Thanks for the response's fellas, so I unplugged my hood switch and so far I haven't had the alarm go off again. So for now I'll leave it unplugged.

Yeah that's what I did with mine. It was constantly going off when I hooked the alarm system up basically didnt feel like paying the price for the replacement switch...but it's only $20.
