    Keeping my car preventive maintenance

    Hey all,

So I've decided to keep my car. I can't sell it. It almost was sold a few weeks back, but at the last minute something fell through. That gave me a chance to really think it over.

So now on to the maintenance items needed, and some preventive stuff.

I did the coolant system about 6 months ago minus the expansion tank.
Just put all new rotors and pads on last week.
This week I have quite a few parts coming in.. There is a few things I left off, I want to rebuild the Vanos, and put on new tensioners/belts.

If you are removing the intake manifold, now is the time to replace the starter and the 2 hard coolant pipes

Which coolant lines? I am removing the intake. I watched some videos on the pcv leaving the intake, looks like a pain in the ass. Plus this way I'll be able to change vacuum lines.

Perfect, great idea, thank you! I think I'm going to take a chance on the starter though, unless it's really a pressing issue.

The starter was really easy with the manifold off. My car had 200k ish when I replaced it and I immediately noticed a bump in cranking speed. If you can swing it, go for it!

    Crankshaft position sensor o-ring 12141748398
    Throttle body gasket 13547504729
Heater hard line - inlet pipe 11531705210
    Cooling hard line 11537502525
    Throttle body gasket 13547504729
M3 engine mounts 11812283798 (if you are doing the oil pan, do the mounts, and probably the FCABs as well)

    DISA gasket GA-BM-DISA-ORING-M54-S

Also, I guarantee this clip for the fuel line is broken: Cable holder 12521732532. It attaches to the flange off the dipstick.

When you finish VANOS and Valve cover, I would do the steering Giubo, the flex disc (26112226527), and consider the shifter bushings if manual - these make a HUGE difference.
