Exterior Light Options on the BMW E46 Touring

So, there's a general lack of options out there for the e46 touring crowd wanting some cool exterior lights. Overall, I've narrowed down the options I'm considering on my exterior lights:

    Front corner lights:
    • Clear corners with black trim (either OE or Khoalty)
    • Smoked corners with black trim
    • Tint, vinyl wrap, or VHT the factory amber corners

    Sidemarkers:
    • Clear sidemarkers
    • Dark smoked sidemarkers
    • Tint, vinyl wrap or VHT the factory sidemarkers

    Tail lights:
    • The Clear/Red factory tail lights for the wagon
    • Tint, vinyl wrap, or VHT the factory tails
    • Spray the amber on the factory tails red

Since I have an extra set of tail lights sitting around (my installed right rear tail has a small crack) - I was just thinking about using the cracked tail to test going all red on the back with the exception of the clear for the reverse. And I was thinking about DIY'ing it old skool e30 style:

    http://e30.bmwdiy.info/red-tails/index.html

I think the red tails would look good with the clears in front... while the VHT tails would look shmexy with the dark smoked or VHT fronts.

Worst comes to worst, I could have a set of all red tails that I can rock should I get pulled over for having the VHT tails.

Bill what color is your touring? On my Jet Black prefacelift touring I have the factory clears all the way around including the 3rd brake light. I really wanted a set of LED tails but I really did not like the looks of them. They looked kinda of ricey on the touring.

    Hi Mike!

Thanks for sending over the pics! My touring is also jet black.

I had not seen a good picture of factory clears on an E46. And you delivered! On a jet black touring no less!

I was thinking about the factory clears - figuring they would match well with the other lights. Then I saw Khoalty's clears w black trim on DW's sedan and thought they looked good.

    Hi Bill,

The factory clears would have either the black trim or tiag trim to match the headlights.

Have you been to the Modded Touring thread over on e46f?

    http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...hlight=touring

Someday my touring will be similar to 330 ZHP's.

330 ZHP has a nice touring. Is Stuart on here yet? I have seen the touring thread on e46f.c and a few other tourings that I like with some really tasteful mods.

I checked on realoem and Pelican Parts and am having difficulty finding factory turn signals with clear lenses and black trim. Found lots of clear and TiAg trim available.
