    Any Eonon Reviews?

Does anyone have any reviews as far as he sound quality goes with Eonon units? I am an apple user (I know I'm in the dark ages) can anyone attest to the sound quality of the unit? Also do you have to cut the air box at all for install with OEM Nav?
    Thanks Guys

i reviewed it in my build thread in the projects section as i have it in my car as well. i like it MUCH better than the business HU from BMW but will probably switch to the parrot carplay unit when it comes out (hopefully i can dickfinger around with one before making a purchase to see if i actually like it). EONON: great bang for your buck.

Thanks for the reply. I'm probably beating a very dead horse but I really need a head unit that can play an iPod lol

The iPod functionality with my Eonon GA5150 leaves a lot to be desired and is klugey at best. I really miss my Dension Gateway 300 that I used with the business CD radio I had stock.

Here is my review of the GA5150:

There are definitely some functions when using an iPod and the 5150 I have that I hate. Doesn't separate songs from the same artist based on albums, it's also got some playback functionalities that I don't like. Overall, it's a 3 outta 5 for me but it works flawlessly taking that aside.

Do you have the problem of the iPod functionality not having the ability to fast forward/rewind, as well as not resume from a certain point in the song it's playing when you turn the car off and turn it on again? Mine will start the whole song over, as well as take forever to boot the iPod app. Sometimes it won't even detect the iPod and I have to turn the whole car off and on again for it to work properly.

Hmmmm well are there better options in the sub $500 range for us with OEM nav? My biggest concern is sound and retaining nav. Other than that I don't care about apps

Unfortunately you're extremely limited because of the OE Nav...

if you're concern is sound and retaining OE Nav, then send Kyle (static667) a PM. He knows BMW stereos and did a custom stereo install on my M3 while retaining my OE setup (NAV & BM53 radio). Absolutely love the setup
