I've always had a big chub for wagons for some reason and found an exceptionally clean one on ebay and decided to pull the trigger.

So I picked up this guy from vintage autobahn out in Portland, and flew out for a little roadtrip to get initiated. The wife and I drove down through Bend for the night (and many beers), then Boise, Salt Lake and finally home to Denver. It ran beautifully other than not being impressed with going over 70 on the highway, limiting us to cruising, windows down, in the right lane for most of the jaunt.

It was imported from Germany in early 2015, has about 116k on the clock, the little baby m42 1.8 engine, completely rust free, and super tidy inside.

I bought it as a project car, so should be lots of interesting things getting delivered in the coming months.

Hey all, thanks for the compliments...should be fun.
Whammy, anytime, I live downtown. I also head to a lot of the BMWCCA autocrosses and a few of their track days if you ever attend those.

    A few wagon updates:

    Installed new tie rods
New control arms with powerflex bushings
    New front wheel bearings
    New front brake dust shields
Eibach front and rear sway bars all new mounting brackets and bushings
    GC shortened front strut housings
    Hypercoil springs
    GC front camber plates
    Koni shocks
    New endlinks front and rear

The only non-typical part of the install stuff for the wagon was getting to the top of the rears as I had to remove the entire rear interior and rear seatbelts. Otherwise all pretty straightforward

Initial impressions: ride is a little stiff so I may reduce spring rates in the rear. It's only an issue when the roads are horrible, which is most of the time. Overall feels tidy though and has good turn in and I'm pretty happy with it. Ride height is adjustable and I'll probably play around with it some, but it looks much better with that little bit of drop.

Sooo, little overdue update. Brakes got delayed due to some out of stock debacle so I decided on some wheels. My wife hates them, but they've grown on me.

Also, brakes finally arrived so I'll be starting that project in the not to distant future--UUC BBK

On an unrelated note, which may spawn a project thread of its own in the future, I found one of these wandering around Germany so brought it home:
