I got a standard pack of license plate screws from AutoZone this morning and they worked fine for the front, but they don't fit in the back. Does anyone know what the correct size of screw should be used.
I have seen some people online saying that it is an M5 x .8. I think the size I bought were 3/4 #14 and they were too long and I am not sure if the thread was correct either.

It looks like it's #12 here which is the 5X8 MM.

I ended up going with the BMW screws. Part number 07 11 9 907 623.

I ended up going to the local hardware store and bought some 5X12mm screws with a .8 pitch. They worked great. Thanks you guys.
