    06 BSM-NB Coupe Maintenance/Project Thread

Taking inspiration from all the project/maintenance threads on the mafia, I thought I'd start my own. I think this is the best way to keep track of all the maintenance done and also be able to share it with all of the mafia.

    Vehicle History -

    Vehicle information

    Type 330CI (USA)

    Dev. series E46 (2FL)

    Body type COUPE

    Gearbox MECH

    Colour BLACK SAPPHIRE METALLIC (475)

    Upholstery STANDARDLEDER/NATURBRAUN (N6NG)

    Prod. date 2005-10-10

    1st owner -
Leased on 11/25/2005 from BMW of Palm Springs, Palm Springs, CA. Had it for about 2 years and 2 months and 53671 miles (lot of miles for a little over 2 years). Car was sold at an auction back to the dealership, according to CarFax at least (leased car going to auction and dealership buying it back? ).

    2nd owner -
Bought it on 09/08/2008 from BMW of Palm Springs, Palm Springs, CA and got it shipped all the way to New York. Had the car for about 7 years and about 42k miles before listing it for sale. The 2nd owner was actually a member of the zhpmafia, but not a very active one. I actually realized he was a member after I bought the car from him.

Here is the for sale ad he posted - http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showt...highlight=2006

    3rd owner -
    That would be me
Purchased on 09/05/2014 with 95,513 miles

    Purchase Story -

I was due to graduate in August 2012, so I started to search for a ZHP towards the end of July. Found a few in SC (I went to Clemson University in Greenville, SC) but none were really 'special'. I had about a month before I had to start working so I wanted a zhp before that. I was spending time in New Jersey at my sister's place so I was looking at ZHP's in NJ. Found a 2006 zhp with about 95k miles on it for $14k, it looked really good so I contacted the seller and set up a PPI.

The PPI came out OK and the tech told me, it needed new FCAB's, intake boots and power steering hose line. I was sort of disappointed as I thought the zhp did not need anything in the near future. Tried to negotiate the price but the seller wouldn't budge. The tech at the shop told me he would not give more than $13.5k. So I started my search but I could not find any zhp's that were to my liking. So after searching for about 2 weeks, I decided to buy the zhp I looked at earlier, cause I did a little math and figured it would cost me about $600 to transport all of my stuff from NJ to IN. I contact the seller again and to my horror, he said he had a seller lined up and would let me know if he backed out. 2 days later he tells me the car is mine for $14k.

Here is the first picture I took of my ZHP (not a good one but it's the first pic I took of my ZHP ) -

About time! So you graduated in 2012? We must be similar in age then.

Getting a maintenance/project thread together feels good. It's nice to look back on what you've done and when.

    Good idea!

"ZHP is a garbage option anyway- just some cosmetic upgrades with a different cam and diff to claw back some of the performance lost fitting those hideous and heavy wheels. Any 330 with a 3.46 diff will smoke a ZHP every time. The whole Mafia thing reeks of childish behavior." - an e46fanatic

Thanks guys... Even though I had the Zhp and been a member of the mafia for about a year and a half, i just didn't think about having my own project thread... Better late than never I guess...

Let me make it easy, I turned 26 about 2 weeks ago lol

Yup, just typing up all I did till now made me think, "damn, I've done quite a lot" haha... But I didn't take too many pictures while DIY'ing which is kinda sad... But I will from now on...
