Thatís a pretty nice covered parking area for an apartment/condo. The ones down here are usually single row, so with even a slight breeze the front and back of your car gets zero protection.

Yup, the space is quite generous but this being the end spot, it does get hit with quite a lot of snow. But il take snow over risk of door dings anyday. Also I park closer to the other side than I would usually cause our neighbor lives alone and the passenger side door never opens...

    March 18th, 2019 - 173998 miles

Took the zhp out of storage.

    Changed oil and filter.

Swapped wheels back to Arc8 wheels with Michelin PSS.

Took the car to a touch less car wash.

The car was very unhappy when I started it up but seems to be running well now. SES light is still on and I feel like there will be more codes now after the rough start...

I did add it but I didnít run the engine after. I was thinking about this then other day and I think the engine ran like crap because the fuel in the fuel lines that didnít have the fuel stabilizer dissolved because it ran fine after a min or two.

Last year I did run the engine for a few min/miles after adding the fuel stabilizer the it started without any issues.

After almost exactly 80k miles and 4.5 years under my ownership, my zhp decided to tell me that she wants new brakes. The yellow/amber brake light lit up on my way to work today. The set of brakes on the zhp right now have at least ~120k miles on them if not more as neither me nor the PO replaced the brakes. Either the first owner replaced them in the first 60k ish miles or they have never been replaced. Either way I think they have lasted quite well.

I am planning to attend a track day sometime in September/October time frame and will probably attend one or two track day events per year (hopefully). So, I am hoping to get rotors and pads that are for street use predominantly but can also be good enough for a track day beginner.

With that in mind, I thought I would get Zimmerman Drilled Rotors F/R

    Rear - https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ed-34201166073

    Front - https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-34101166071zd

    Thoughts?

Also, what would you folks recommend for pads? In no particular order, I am looking at -
    • Hawk HP+
    • EBC Yellow Stuff
    • PFC Street

Next, I am planning to upgrade to stainless steel brake lines. I saw quite a few options on ECSTuning and not so many on FCP, any particular brand you folks recommend?

    Thanks!

my heavyweight beast 745i ran on Akebono ceramics for most of the 200K miles I put on it, and I love em. They last forever..... and I never noticed any difference in breaking or pedal feel. I immediately put them on my ZHP when I got it with the same experience, and now my E92 is getting them very soon (since I'm not washing these wheels every weekend).

Can't speak for cars that see the track....

My usage and goals are the same as yours and I have Zimmerman drilled rotors and PFC z rated pads ready to go on with endless rf650 fluid. I can let you know how it holds up on the track in like a month, but I did a ton of research and I'm pretty excited for the combo. I did one track night in America on OE fluid and akenbono pads and it was scary how quickly they faded and never recovered. I don't ever want to feel that again: like I need to start braking during the straight because I don't know if I'll have brakes for the turn.

I got stainless lines just because my OE lines were cracked, but I kind of wish I had just gotten a fresh set of OE. There's really no performance or durability advantage with the braided steel being on the outside or under a thick rubber casing. If anything the rubber does a better job of protecting them from abrasion.
