O2 sensors finally showed up! Going to loan the socket tool from Oriellys and get these installed soon. The test drive up the coast. 70 and sunny outside, great cruising weather

    Thanks John it is!

I'm waiting on the GF to finish this quarter at UCSB so she can graph my data logs, I Will then post and share with everyone. It is a very noticeable difference in graphs when you look at the old O2 sensors compared to the new ones.

Few pictures comparing old to new. 148k miles on the car and both the pre-cat sensors were failing, even though I only had a code for one.

Swapping O2 sensors is a very easy job, just requires a special type of socket to remove them without damaging the power cord. I loaned this one from my local Oreillys. It came in a set of 3, with the other being the type you have to reposition after a half turn on so.

You can reach both pre-cat O2 sensors from the top down. It is recommended to remove the cabin air filter housing which is easy as it is only 4 T30 bolts. I opted to remove the secondary air pump for more clearance as it is only held in place by 3 10mm bolts, but this is not a have to.

Super easy job! Took about 20 minutes because I was taking photos, but otherwise 10 mins and you can be done and running again. Screenshot from my phone verifying that the new sensors were hooked up. When you turn the key to Aux in the ignition, they should read as follows, .425V:

Another screenshot taken while car was at consistent speed. The read out should be roughly in the .7V to .75V while maintaining a constant speed.

Last screen shot, showing O2 sensor function going from ~25mph to crawling, back to ~25mph.

Readout of my Readiness monitors after installing the new O2 sensor. All eventually turned green after a drive cycle was completed.

My next post will have some graphs and i'll explain them and how to identify O2 sensors that are on the fritz or already doneso!

I have the OBDLink MX and was using Torque Pro App. I have OBD Fusion as well, and was told this was a better app, but I can only get it to work with my GF's Fiesta ST and not the ZHP

This is a slightly less expensive option by the same company:

I really like the MX and think it is a must have tool now. I've used it in both the FiST and the ZHP and have been logging everything from O2 sensors to Fuel Trims. The MX comes with a free app, but I haven't even tried it. Torque and OBDFusion were only $4.99 each and figured they were more developed.
