Been gone for awhile, sad to be back...

So, life has been busy and I have just not been on here in months. Unfortunately, I am back on for some sad news. An old lady pulled out in front of me and I t-boned her at 40mph. I'm pretty sure the car is totaled, and at this point wouldn't want the car anymore if it was fixable. I'm hoping to settle up with insurance easily, but I am prepared for the worst. I have most my receipts, so that should give me close to a grand, but I will have the typical battle of trying to prove my car is worth more than a regular 330i.

    I have a few questions.
1: from the looks of the damages what would be a realistic price to buy it back so that I could turn some sort of profit on parts and not have all this get crushed.

2: What are y'all's opinions on an e36 m3 DD? Reliable?

    Holden,

So sorry to hear about what happened. I'm glad that you are okay and I hope that the lady involved in the accident is also okay. This is very sad to see. Would you not want another zhp?

I'm not sure what you would have to pay to buy it back, but I do know that most insurance companies give people a generous amount for totaled cars. I know several people who have totaled their cars and the insurance company gave them much more than what the car is worth. Most insurance companies will never give you less than what the car is worth. They are usually pretty good at that.

I have a friend who daily drives an e36 m3 sedan. From what I have seen, it's not a bad idea. I don't really see why DD an e36 m3 would be of any issue.

That was a pretty good hit but looks like not enough to blow the airbags. Probably just missed the sensors.

As long as you are okay, the car can be replaced.

Year and miles on the vehicle will play a part in the final decision.

    Keep us updated.

Also glad to hear you and the old lady are okay. Interested and hoping that you get a good deal off the car from your insurance.

Depends on what you've got to part the car out parts wise? From what I can see, outside shadow line trim/wheels/possibly headlights

Sorry to hear, definitely sucks but I'm sure you'll bounce back

Man...that's identical to my last ZHP, makes me sad to look at it. Glad you're okay, and sorry for your loss! I had a '99 Estoril Blue M3 for 2 years as my daily, great freakin car, never had any issues and it had almost 180k on the clock when I sold it. That was about 8 years ago, and I still miss that car to this day... Happy hunting, E36 M3 has my vote
