Annoying is fine if it gets attention with added range for my old person slow reactions. LOL besides I have it set to shut up within 3 secs of alert.

Ive been quite happy with my Redline. Hardwired up to the right of the rear view. Sent it in to Escort about a year back for service when it started giving me issues and now its fantastic. Helps a lot in Arizona as well as the drive out there, but not much in California

The new firmware update is so much more configurable. Like our old phones where we can change ringtones!!

Trevor, are those legal in BC?

    They aren't here in Ontario.

Not Trevor, but I found a source here which says that it is legal to use them in BC

It's legal all over west and middle of Canada. But the R3 can mask itself in places where it's illegal. So cops can't detect this unit from in their cop car. That's the great thing about this detector. Full stealth ability while only the highest priced escort can do at more than 50% the cost of the R3. Valentine is fully detectable.

Crap man, I'm really liking what I'm reading about this thing. My wallet really hates this forum.

that's awesome about west/mid canada! i had no idea. one more reason to move to BC.

i wouldn't run it here, though... i would hate to have it confiscated.

when i lived in the US i always had a radar detector. i got so used to having one, that it was really weird when i moved to canada - it was weird getting used to driving without one. now i'd used to it, but if i end up in BC... i'm getting one.

I've gone two periods without one during my entire driving life. After a laser ping got me, and I sold my 8500 X50 to help finance the citation. Made it 3 years before buying the V1, had it for 2 years, and sold it last spring. Both times it's been so weird not having one. I drive way too much for work (right now, hopefully short term) to continue without one.

Help me out here, brother. I'm trying to divert blame, and make myself feel better!

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
