Dash cams - who has them, what do you think of them?

After seeing my fair share of some sketchy stuff going on while driving (especially on this most recent drive home from California), I'm considering getting a dash cam for my car. I was hoping to see if members here have a dash cam, and if so what model they have and what they think of it.

EDIT: It seems the current top choice that is a good bargain between size, price, and performance is the Viofo A119C

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

I personally like the Blackvue. I had one of the older ones in my older cars and they were great. I want to get the new one with the front/rear setup.

As nice as it is, the issue is that it's not purposed for what people typically buy dashcams for. So, it may not have the same convenient features that a standard dashcam has for the reasons you need it. This is more geared for people who want to deliberately record a piece of footage for sharing later. This makes me wonder IF there are any inadequacies when used in place of a typical dashcam for the purpose of recording collisions.

I'd be more inclined to choose a product that is designed for that kind of purpose rather than the "active lifestyle" this cam is designed for.

I will let Charlie be the test dummy for this one. I'll see it, probably like it, and buy it, then blame it on him.
