    JOURNAL 1 | ZHP 4/6

    - 2004 330i sedan (04/04)
    - Imola Red/ black leather
    - 137,687 miles ( as of 06/24/16 )
    - 2 of 4 factory options
    - $6,800 cash purchase

Well, it's been awhile since i have logged on to this forum 6 years to be exact. the last time i was here, i had really low mileage one owner '99 328i convertible 5spd, a '95 M3 replaced it a year later. owned that car for about a year and decided i needed a nice powerful daily driver. So in 2012 i purchased a early model 2011 5.0 track/premium package, sold the M3 and went a little crazy on the Mustang ( suspension , watts link , bolt ons... the works ) tracked it, dragged it, thrashed it and took good care of it, excellent cars. anyway, 3.5 years later sold that and picked up a stupid low mile, one owner, always garaged 2010 Nissan 370z Nismo from a girl in San Antonio....no mods, but ! i hadmany track days and fun it, sold it and now i'm here with the ZHP i purchased from a good friend, about a week ago. i've always wanted one of these cars, there were two i used to see awhile back in in 2008-2009 both were coupes in the Lake Travis area i used to see daily going home. funny thing is a ZHP coupe was supposed to replace '99 328i but the deal fell through. A '02 330i sedan sport came up or sale

the car has a few cosmetic issues, the alcantara has seen its better days, the left front door trim has broken tab & there are rock chips in various spots of the car, the bumper itself needs to be replaced or re sprayed at least. other than that it's a solid car! i will say the power delivery is off at times, i read that it has something to do with a " glitch " in the DME or something, my friend tells me it was updated but that odd power dip is still there. going to look into refreshing the Vanos...

    Upgrades/changes:

    - E46 M3 front seats
    - VMR V703 " CSL style " 18x8.5 / 18x9.5
    - OBX muffler
    - Halos ( not sure of brand or temp )
    - Window tint ( horrible job by mothers window tint on the rear glass )

stutter at 2,800 to 3,000 rpm

Changed the oil & filters today, i've always preferred Motul; used it in all of my previous cars with exception of the e36 328i. The car had a K&N drop in, that was dirty so instead of buying a cleaning kit i just replaced with a MANN filter.

However as of lately, I've been experiencing some odd issues with the car. the car has a slight hesitation around 2,800-3,000 rpm only at half throttle, it's very odd. The previous owner said the DME was updated, so for good measure i'm going to have it checked to see if it has the latest software & maybe have the car " euro flashed ", in hope of improving throttle response...because it's awful at the moment.

Good work! Sorry to hear about the engine stutter but I think you're approaching the problem with the best/cheapest/easiest solution.

Nice ZHP sir. Hope you figure out your throttle response issues. These cars really are amazing DD's.
