Car looks good! We're twins. I'm interested in getting some seat time this summer with an instructor. Where would you recommend? I was looking on Tarheel BMW CCA's website and saw the classes at VIR. Any other options or places out there?

If you’re looking for track time and not autocross I’d highly recommend the Tarheel CCA events—especially the Summer HPDE on VIR North Course (the E46 really shines on VIR North). Having done some HPDEs with other chapters, other tracks, and other clubs, Tarheel CCA set a pretty high bar. The instructors are the best I’ve come across, VIR is a world class track with awesome corner workers and staff, and April + Paul run good, safe, instructive events. They’re not cheap, but in terms of instruction quality I’ve found you get what you pay for.

From my experience, and somewhat reinforced by what I’ve heard from other folks, some of the other groups are better suited for once you have some track experience under your belt. If you go let me know, I’ll definitely be there.

Sold the ZHP a few months ago toward the end of March. Replaced with an E70 X5 35d and focusing on the E36 M3.

I told the new owner about the site, not sure if he’s joined yet.

Congrats on the X5. I would like to own a diesel some day. It's on my bucket list.
