    The control arms are fine. I think the mechanics were just unable to adjust the camber, so concluded the bolt are broken. I am going to buy a new pair and replace the old ones. They are probably all corroded and seized.

    ....but first I a should take a look at the old ones and see if I can't get them out and clean them up.

    It's common for the bolts to seize. They end up destroying the control arm in the process of getting the thing off.
