    battery replacement

    Hi guys,

One quick question that popped up after I changed my battery yesterday.

Do we need to do a reprog for the new battery? I know it is something you need to do with an E90 but does it also apply to the E46.

    Thanks!

No, programming for the battery is not needed for E46 3 series cars, only E9x 3 series on.....

Reprogramming is just a dealer scam for the older cars. The most you will have to do is reset your clock. What battery did you go with?

    Current:
    1988 BMW 325is
    1996 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 x3 Locked - Restoration/Project Thread on ih8mud.com
    Sold:
    "Scarlett" the 2005 BMW 330i ZHP 6MT - Project/Maintenance Thread
    2011 BMW M3 E92 6MT - Info/Maintenance Thread

I went with a home brand from a speacialized battery shop in town. Works well since then and so far just had to reset my clock.
