Dane ... Maybe they improved the design of the threaded bolts and the sleeves are now obsolete. I will send you mine if you need them. Let me know.

As for part #13 showing on the doors trim, that must be a mistake.

I usually grab a handfull of the orange inserts when Im at a salvage yard. At least half of them are destroyed each time I remove the trim

    Fredo,

Is there anyway you could bet me a closer picture of:

    1. Threaded bolt

    2. Threaded sleeve.

    3. 1 and 2 together as an assembly?

    Thanks in advance.

    Dane,
This is what it's supposed to look like for the door trim:

I honestly have no idea what all this talk of "threaded sleeves" is all about... I've never once seen a door trim with such a setup. They've all been this type of pin that I've pictured.

Hope these 2 pics clarify the situation.

Threaded bolt (left arrow) and bolt with sleeve (2nd arrow).
BTW, my door trim looks different to the one BP posted.
Dane, how does your trim looks compared to BP's and mine ?

I am going to install some trim. So, should I order these new threaded ones with new sleeves? They are not expensive so I don't mind ordering a set. Benefits?

Looking at realoem it appears only the threaded bolts are available for the doors trim. There's no indication of sleeves in there, so hopefully they come included with the threaded bolts.

Not sure if it's a factor, but the pics I posted are for the wood trim usually found on the e46 325i. That's the one I have in a box so it was easy to get pics.

Considering nobody can seem to find the P/N, I'm inclined to say such a thing doesn't exist.
But, here's what I'll do for ya. I have a spare set of silver cube trim that has the pins installed... I'll send you those pins.
All I ask is that if you ever change out your trim and your replacement trim comes with pins already installed, that you just send these back to me. In the mean time, if I ever have to swap back to silver, I could just transfer from the black cube set I have installed now.
