here's a pic of the interior. it is pretty gross.

my bad on the shift knob, i thought it was a 5-speed ZHP knob, but it's a 5-speed M3-style knob.

Uh oh, those look like vinyl ("Leatherette") seats... I can see the vertical lines and a spot where it's about to start cracking on the passenger side! Perhaps it's time for a leather swap.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

yep, they are leatherette. blah. it's already cracking on the driver's outer bolster... and yep, leather swap will happen.

    thanks rob!

got some production data for the wagon courtesy of user 'SickFinga':

10 - 2002-2005 BMW 325i Touring (EN33) - NA painted in Electric Red (438) with Black Vinyl (K4SW) interior were built for the Canadian market. 7 manual, 3 automatic.

9 were built for the US market. 3 manual, 6 automatic.

The most rare option in this car is the option S760A - High gloss shadow line. It was installed on 17 out of 4,722 cars.
so 1 of 10! very cool. or, 1 of 7 with manual.

It's interesting you can see the difference between the US and pretty much any other country with the split between manual and automatic purchases.

repaired the non-op rear license plate light tonight (retrofitted a universal aux light, like i did with my ZHP) - 1.5hrs and about $4 in parts. should be the only thing it needs for inspection, i hope - everything else checks out OK, but i haven't checked the front brake lines yet.

also cleaned up the leather wheel and the dash. the car was really, really dirty... like, years of grime kinda dirty. fortunately the plastic bits are cleaning up nicely. the leather M wheel is not fairing as well, but it's miles better than it was. also hooked up PASoft and set things the way i like them.
