    Intakes for my 03 ZHP...

I'm planning to get an intake soon and wondering if anyone has experience with the cosmo racing one from Canada... https://www.cosmoracing.com/producti...d=124&pid=1121

Also looking at Injen short ram but looks like the heatshield is better/nicer on the Cosmo.

    Thoughts?

interesting. their website is.... also interesting.

looks like it has the benefits of the aFe but with potentially no intake boot kink. hmmm.

Would be nice if I could get one with a black filter element and black silicone.

The site makes me feel like I've gone back in time to 2003. Lol.

Stock intake is best intake...not a joke. GruppeM or leave it alone. Naturally aspirated engines...no gain whatsoever from any of them. Klaus and Franz designed stock intake to match air paths better than afe and similar can.

Afe stage 2 (the one with the lid) best option for increased airflow.

If you revamp the stock one that's a nice one too. Just swapout the charge pipe for one without ripples in it.

Yeah you're right, every intake manufacturer has fudged those dyno numbers that show gains lol

Cmon, there's benefit to smoother surfaces for outer edge of airflow and less bending and such.

No it's not night and day by any means but it's there.

Leave the stock intake on and spend your money elsewhere. All aftermarket units besides Dinan ( similar to factory unit ) look like they do not belong under the hood IMO

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...it's a safe bet all things being equal our butt dynos wouldn't notice a thing relative to the cost outlay. My feeling with those intakes is there are other things maintenance wise to do that offer real benefit in performance or peace of mind categories. VANOS seals, DISA rebuild, to name a couple. GruppeM is exception because you actively hear the pleasurable induction noise and has benefit to autox/track situations (hearing it through helmet/wind) it's worthless all the same from a performance standpoint.

i like my aFe intake purely for the noise aspect. it was worth the money i spent on it, and i will likely buy one of those cosmo ones listed above for the Touring project, simply because i love the induction noise. the smiles are worth it.
