    Intakes for my 03 ZHP...

GruppeM is exception because you actively hear the pleasurable induction noise and has benefit to autox/track situations (hearing it through helmet/wind) it's worthless all the same from a performance standpoint.
Well no arguing that but that's a different point and pretty subjective.

The simple fact is there are proven dyno numbers to back that most intake systems offer some kind of power gain.

Is it a bandage on a head wound if your vanos or disa's are failing causing power loss, absolutely. Anything else though is purely opinionated.

If you revamp the stock one that's a nice one too. Just swapout the charge pipe for one without ripples in it.

That would be the stage 1. I'm not sure why they call it that when they claim larger gains on the stage 1 and it's priced higher.

Same, though my price point would be closer to the $250 and under, maybe ~$350 for the GruppeM

Don't buy an intake expecting performance benefits, buy it for the induction noise.

Not true, airflow increase is needed for proper tuning. If you tune a car on a stock intake filter the gains aren't as apparent.

Yeah my bad... I forgot they are flip flopped.

It's because of less heat soak. The single mass ITB on it is why I prefer that one over the rest of the intakes. That and the price.

Well I wasn't talking about tuning or calibration, I was just talking about replacing the stock intake with an aftermarket option only... I'm not saying it's impossible I'm just saying don't expect miracles by just swapping intakes...

Bmw also designed their own Perf Intake which would indicate that there are better ones than just stock.
