Ceramic coating is an upgraded version of a sealant which is chemically composed to create another super thin layer on top of your painted surfaces to protect it from the sun, tree's saps, etc. It doesn't protect your car from scratching, most of this ad is just a gimmick. It's super thin and nothing compared to a real film.

It'll make the car looks glassy!!

If you want to go the route of ceramic coating (you should) then you'll want to cancel your appointment with the buffer dude and find a well regarded, professional detailer to do the paint correction at same time. They'll polish out any blemishes in the clear coat and make sure the surface is perfect before applying the ceramic. They can coat the wheels too for a few extra dollars. Research coatings like Opticoat and Cquartz and find someone in the area that is licensed to use the professional versions of them. Getting this done now will cost you $600-1k, but will protect the paint for 5+ years and, for some of the coatings, allow you to get a squeaky clean car with just a pressure washer w/ foam cannon.

at $600 - $1000 man thats just not in the budget lol but i DO need to get the orange peel taken care of so ill still do the appointment and then i guess ill just read up on how to do it myself and see how had it is. I have a friend that did ceramic coating to his Supra... maybe i can sweet talk him into helping out lol

yes it does. you just have to make sure you use a flywheel that accepts a flywheel mounted pilot bearing. the M54 6 speed ZF transmission has an input shaft that uses a flywheel mounted pilot bearing compared to other S50/2/4 motors that use crank shaft mounted pilot bearings.

should be able to just use and install your M54 flywheel and clutch setup and retain your 6 speef ZF tranny and rest of the driveline. would help keep costs down too.

The Getrag transmission is slightly taller in gears and has a longer 6th. Barely.

good deal! doesnt seem too different, at least not enough to deter someone from reusing the ZF unit with an S54 and 3.07 330 diff

i really want the OEM ZCP 19 inch wheels. i can reuse my tires and I know they will fit now and they have the ARC 8 look i really love. they are just so darn expensive and hard to find.
