They are metal. The body shop guy traced out the fender flares portion to graft into my.body lines. There is it a bit that goes into the door as you can see.

Herss a pic of the metal he cut out from my car yesterday and a pic of the metal flare from the back side.

man! I want to do this to my car... I've done it before: replacing 1/4 panels, grafting/welding panels, floors etc. but that was when I was a fleet mechanic 25 years ago... although they all turned out well, doing this on a bunch of work trucks is different than your own nice car...

agreed... i want to do this too. but frig man, it's a lot of effort - i would have to be like 90% hands-off on this kind of initiative or it would totally suck me in!

I can only hope the body shop guy will keep sending them to me lol. It's a bit of a drive to his shop so I can't make it out there often nor do I want to be a bugaboo customer hindering his creative side in tackling the project. Everyone has a different approach to these fender conversions so I'm excited to see his take on it.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this comes out. I've thought about doing the rear quarters and front fenders, but without the grills. Just a wide body ZHP. Do you think it's possible to do M3 fenders with a zhp front bumper? Just wondering if theres a width issue.

Perhaps you should tell him you appreciate all the pictures and you're excited to see how it's going. That will encourage him to send more without you being a pest.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.
