    Cool How I found my ZHP

    Thank you very much for the warm welcome.

    As promised, here is how I found this baby right under my nose. I will copy this info to the first post when its done.

    I alluded to the fact that I'm not impressed with the driving characteristics of the newer BMWs.
    So I was left with purchasing a pristine E36 M3 from California or an E46. But which E46 ?
    I need 4 doors and I like the M3 which does not work in the E46. Unless I could find a ZHP...

    So the search is on.
    I personally prefer the black cubic trim on a black car with black interior.
    I love the red on this car but I am unable to purchase a BMW that is not black...

    Nothing turns up on Autotrader.com for months.
    Then in 2012 I'm in Mont-Tremblant for a BMW Club race and we are at the table talking cars with fellow racers from Montreal and the subject of the search for a daily driver comes up.

    A fellow racer mentions he had a ZHP for sale for months...
    Too good to be true so I start listing my criteria:
    - Manual transmission ? yep;
    - 4 Doors ? yep;
    - Black car ? yep;
    - Black interior ? yep;
    - Black cubic trim ? yep;
    - Low mileage (less than 100,000 km is low mileage for me) ? yep;
    - Can I afford it ? $10,000 because I'm a fellow racer.. Definitely yep !!!

    I had just finished building the race car and was already $20,000 up on the line of credit.
    Just like that the line of credit busted the $30,000. I could not, not buy it :-)

    So it has been a true BMW with 10 years on the counter.
    It needs TLC and is very rewarding to drive.

    The only set back is that it was driven for one winter. You can't always get everything you want but I definitely got what I needed !!
    Thank you Paul !
