Good luck in your search. I've been looking, not very hard mind you, for a set of silver cube trim for a coupe. They don't pop up often.

Figured as much, but thought I would post in the off chance that someone wanted to swap.

I'm wondering if I could lightly sand the black cube trim to remove the top layer and expose the raw aluminum underneath without going so deep as to smooth out the texture.

Yep, that's me typing as the thought creeps into my head. I really need to catch up on sleep from the Canada excursion.

I was thinking on the same issue, but I thought I'd have to bead it or shell blast it. The etching is too fine and aluminum too soft to sand it.

If paint stripper does the job, why go through the process of painting?
I painted my silver cube trim to try to refresh it. The color came out different (in a good way), but an unintended consequence was that the finish wasn't as nice. It's rougher to the touch, and the cubes don't pop as much.

    Pretty sure it is anodizing.

I feel like everyone would just be stripping it down to raw aluminum if it were just paint.
