Huh, that's a very interesting design, never seen that... I'm guessing there are detents to keep it from springing back?

No - If these are anything like the E36 M3 stock mirrors, these are non-folding. The only reason the springy action exists is so that the rmirror doesn't rip off in case someone taps the mirrors.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

OE e46 M3 mirrors are ~150g less than stock so I'm trying to decide if I like them and can lighten them any. Not sure about either.

Correct - they're just heavy springs to bring it slapping back to home position after you drag the mirror down the wall. Simple and effective design. Kind of love it.

Man I never update this thread but did want to post up a data point in that I managed to do a Shark Injector restore tonight (pulled the programming, reloaded stock) with my little lithium battery and 4.3a CTEK charger. I was nervously glancing between the lights on the Shark and the lights on the charger for the entire 15 minutes but it ran the full cycle without a hitch and then started right up.

Thoroughly impressed by this battery as it also sat for like 6 weeks over xmas and started without hesitation. Thought I'd be testing the re-start feature for sure.

Also lightened the RR corner by 45lb but who's counting ounces

Damn, that's one light battery... quite pricey though!

Was hoping to see more given that extensive parts list you posted a while ago did you install the Corbeau A4 seats yet, if so how do you like them? I'm thinking about sticking an FX1 Pro in mine

    Maybe one day lol

The Corbeaus are doing a great job of sitting in my storage unit. I was surprised at how narrow they are. Still want to try one out if I find the time to finish the slider project but will likely end up selling them instead.

Have you looked into the Mini Cooper/CSL battery? Supposedly it saves a few lbs while not costing more than a normal battery and without losing any convenience compared to the standard size battery.

Yeah, there was a thread on nam3f where people were comparing costs versus weights of batteries and it seemed the Mini battery was a decent option. If it's an okay price I'll go for that when my battery conks out. But this year will be year 7 and it's still going strong!
