    05 Avin multimedia head unit

Hey everyone, so I can't believe have advanced this unit is for an 05! So my question is the previous owner has google installed on the system. it keeps popping up that he needs to log in, even though I had erased, and reinstalled the app.
if I do a factory reset on the unit, will I need to take it to BMW to have them update the maps, and all the software? Sorry for my ignorance, this is the most advanced head unit I have ever owned.
It did come with a tiny cd, with what I assume to be factory data, but that's all 12 years old now.

AVIN units are aftermarket, so BMW wouldn't be able to help.

I thought it was stock because when it turns on it has the M colors in front of the Avin logo.

Yup. Those aren't all that old, maybe less that 3 years? (Not that great with dates)

A handful of people have Avins here. Hopefully they'll chime in soon.

  7. You'll probably have to go into the head unit's settings and update the user account, and/or remove the signin process
