Anyone have stock HK Speaker Upgrade options and reviews for sedan?

I am currently looking at doing some upgrades to my sedan's sound system since I suspect there are a few speakers with torn woofers. I was wondering what people did to their ZHP's? I plan on keeping the head unit and amps all stock so I am really just looking at speaker upgrades. There are a number of options out there with the big name being Bav Sound. I found a number of different routes some folks went with a quick google search from the various e46 forums.

The options I have seen so far were:
    1. Bav Sound
    2. Speakers and adapters from crutchfield, parts express or some other retailer
    3. Kit created by a forum member from e46f, consisting of parts express dayton audio speakers, http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-Series...-/281103676824 & https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-Upgrade-(E46)
    4. Just replace busted speakers with stock replacements.

One upgrade I am trying to figure out is how to get better bass from the stock sub's. I have found some solutions to get 6.5" woofers with a 6x9 adapter but I am unsure of the wiring and specs of the stock sub amp. The kit the one person created mentioned the stock amp runs at 2 ohms which if it is the case would need to wire the subs in a particular way to reproduce.

I have BSW/BAVSOUND. Minor improvement (and I've now developed a rattle in the driver's side mid :-( )
EBay kit looks interesting (I still can't believe he laid all that stuff on his M3 boot lid for the pic). In for the discussion!

Option number two is the way I'd go, and if I weren't slowly turning my ZHP into a track rat, they way I would go - the next daily driver will go this route. Parts Express has a ton of great options - just be sure to get stuff that is OHM'd correctly, and if you don't mind the minor fab/modification work needed, then you'll be good to go.

I'm about to need to upgrade my speakers as well. I haven't looked into anything other than Bavsound. Interested to hear what some other options are

So what I did was go with Polk Audio mid bass 2 way speakers, and then just did the BSW tweeter upgrade.

Cheaper than all BSW and got better bass response out of the mids.

I've had the BSW speaker upgrade for about 5 years. while the kit definitely seems to be a quality product, the difference is marginal. Every time I get into the ZHP from our '08 MDX and turn on the radio, I'm disappointed. The MDX system is so much better. I think if the kit included subwoofers, it might be a little better but definitely not worth the premium price IMO.

I'd like to find a set of those subwoofer adapters.... I'm pretty sure the stock subwoofers are some weird size and not 6X9

Just buy an infinity basslink, best $150 you'll spend on the audio
