On my first E46 ('01 330i) I had Powerflex bushings and that included the diff mounts and sub-frame mounts.
I felt the car was definitely more solid in the back and felt I was getting better response to throttle. No squeaks developed since the two year or so I had gotten the job done along with sub-frame reinforcements.
I believe I had street bushings for the sub-frame points and the diff mounts were black (race)
