Had a PPI done- just want to know if this is a deal breaker

Hi all. I just had a PPI done on a great looking ZHP sedan. PPI was done at a BMW dealership, West German BMW in the Philly area. The PPI came back with "oil filter housing gasket/vanos line leaking, valve cover gasket slight leak, possible oil pan gasket leak."

I spoke with the service advisor this morning to pick his brain and get a sense of what he thought of the car. I've looked up each of those items and how to fix them. OFHG, Vanos line and valve cover gasket seem like pretty straightforward things. the oil pan gasket however looks a bit more severe as i've read the sub frame will have to be removed to get to it. But the SA I spoke with told me that the oil they see could be from higher up and that it might not be the oil pan gasket. He told me the guy who serviced it said if it didn't sell that he would be interested-

Basically what Im asking is are any of these things major red flags or enough to get you to walk away from the car? Are they indicators of a more serious issue mechanically? From what I've read they seem to be pretty common M54 issues- that was reinforced when i saw that ECS has complete kits to repair.

Any info from the family much appreciated.

    Joe

+1. Don't worry too much about those issues. Take them to your advantage in negotiation.

Like everyone said those are common. However if it is the oil pan gasket, be warmed that the cost to have it fixed is not cheap.

Agreed. Most are common and easy DIY. Vas just did a OPG so he can school you on how much of a PITA it really is.
