    Yea, just flip it so the rubber side is facing up instead of carpet. I noticed mine smelled more crayon-ey.

    Crayons...BMW's are supposed to smell like crayons? I never made that association, but now that you mention it, I guess mine kind of does. I noticed the crayon aroma more in my '06 ZHP with 69K miles on it the day after I detailed the interior and treated the leather with Griot's leather stuff. I don't recall my '09 M3 ever smelling like that at all, and it only had a couple of thousand miles on it when I bought it. Personally, I'd prefer it to smell more like leather and less like crayons. A friend of mine has a '66 Ferrari 275 GTS that has one of the best interior aromas I've ever had the pleasure of inhaling. Second to that, the early Jag's and Mercedes with all their wood, Wilton wool and Connolly hides are also a big treat for your olfactory.
